Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

For a newly qualified therpaist, the simple approach to treating depression is to tell the patient to "go away and pull yourself together". Of course this is a little harsh and probably ineffective. However, there is an alternative and that is called Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. This treatment works by teaching you to tell the patient to go away and visualise themselves pulling themselves together. It is a subtle but highly effective difference.

Sportsmen - are you committed enough?

There has never been more pressure on top tevel sportsmen than there is today. Now that the normal rules of maths have been overturned by semi-numerate athletes interviews allow us to see just how committed our heroes really are. The only problem is that saying "I gave 100% out there today" only marks you out as a slacker. Most professionals give "120%" or "150%" so my advice is to claim that you give "a million %" in every game. That way it'll take years for your team mates to catch you up.

Time on my hands

I recently switched jobs and now work in a small rural market town. As my new job doesn't demand 10 hours a day of high intensity work, I find myself with the occasional half hour to fill at lunchtimes. This is a novelty for me as I haven't taken a regular lunch break for about 20 years.
The main problem with this is that the modern small town has a rather odd range of attractions available for the modern executive. In the last week I have used all the facilities and have had a spray tan, a manicure, a body piercing and two tattoos. Next week I am faced with pretty much the same array of entertainment. The bars are uniformly grimy and even if I wasn't a non-drinker would be unnappealing. So, I'll be having a back wax on Wednesday and buying fish from the refrigerated van which visits on Friday. That is about as much excitement as I'll be able to generate.
All this leaves me looking bright orange and wondering where my career went.

What do you do with your lunch break?
