Heion - Tranquility
The traditional Japanese garden fascinates me.
I am basically an unhappy, tired and lonely person trudging through life. My personality tends towards liking order, neatness, logic and beauty. It is these qualities of Zen gardens that appeal. Life is very messy and cluttered and gardening allows you a certain degree of control and time to think whilst escaping the pressures of work. The Japanese garden is a very controlled environment, where things only happen for a reason. I want to know more about this, contemplate its meaning and see if I can find some peace in my own garden.
Judith Glover, writes in "In A Zen garden" that "beauty is found in the transience of all things". That is something to ponder on whilst pruning this evening.
